Ok, I can’t even begin to describe how tender these ribs are. I have to be honest, I was a skeptic when it came to making ribs in the Instant Pot. I just didn’t think that they would be as tender or flavorful, but man, was I wrong!! So glad that I decided to give this recipe a try. I got 2 thumbs up from my husband, who is kind of a rib snob 🙂 Give these a try…..you will not be disappointed!
-Peel the membrane off of the back of the ribs. This is a MUST in order to get tender, fall off the bone ribs. I like the slice down the middle of the ribs and then just peel the membrane, holding it with a paper towel to get a better grip.
-Generously cover both sides of the ribs with the spice rub, rubbing it in evenly.
-Let the ribs marinate for at least 1 hour.
-In the Instant pot, place the trivet inside the inner pot. Pour the water and vinegar into the bottom of the inner pot. Then place the rack of ribs onto of the trivet.
-Place the lid on and turn to close. Turn the valve to seal.
-Choose the manual method and adjust the timer to 25 minutes. Once the timer goes off, allow to naturally release for 10 minutes and then quick release.
-Carefully pull the trivet out with the ribs and place the ribs on a baking sheet. I used tongs on each end of the rack to keep them together. They will literally fall apart at this point.
-Turn the broiler on high.
-Brush your favorite BBQ sauce on the top and bottom of the ribs and place under the broiler for about 8 minutes until the BBQ sauce has baked on to the ribs.
-Pull apart and enjoy!!
