Do you love hibachi?!? We do!!! Unfortunately, we don’t always have the time to go out to dinner. So, I was on a mission to find a recipe that gave us the flavors of hibachi without having to leave the house. And, I think I found it!!
These noodles pack a ton of flavor and are so fast to put together. We eat them with everything! It is a guarantee that my kids will eat them, so they are part of our menu almost every week.
I have made this recipe with both the traditional rice noodles and with regular linguine noodles. The only place around me that I have been able to find the rice noodles (Ka-Me Rice Noodles) is Giant Eagle, so if you can’t find them, don’t be afraid to try this with linguine noodles. It is just as good in my opinion.
-If you are using linguine noodles, cook according to the instructions on the box.
-Mince garlic and add to melted butter in hot pan.
-Cook the garlic until it becomes aromatic. Don’t let the garlic brown.
-Add the soy sauce, teryaki, and sugar to the pan and cook until the sugar has dissolved and the sauce is hot.
-Add rice noodles or linguine to the sauce and mix until combined. The rice noodles are pre-cooked, so you just have to keep on the heat for a couple minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 pack Ka-Me Rice Noodles OR 1 lb linguine noodles
- 2 tbsp butter
- 3 cloves minced garlic
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 4 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp teriyaki sauce
- Pepper to taste
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- Sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- If you are using linguine noodles or uncooked rice noodles, cook according to their instructions.
- Melt butter in a sauté pan and add minced garlic.
- Allow garlic to cook until it becomes aromatic. Do not let the garlic brown or it will turn bitter.
- Add the sugar, soy sauce and teriyaki sauce to the pan. Allow to cook until the sugar has dissolved.
- Add the noodles to the pan and toss to coat. Cook for a couple minutes on low, just to warm up the noodles.
- Add the sesame oil to the noodles and mix.
- *Do not allow the sauce to reduce while cooking or it will become too salty, due to the soy sauce.
